The project is for a coffee kiosk and street furniture store for a new ‘event space’ currently being constructed in Edinburgh Park. We hope that the kiosk will be a physical and social hub to the park.

The kiosk is conceived as a lantern and will display continuosly updated information about the Park, forthcoming attractions and real time information such as bus timetable, weather, news and share price information. The kiosk occupies the ground floor. Hinged panels and doors open out, displaying menu information and prices. The upper level is used to store street furniture and house lighting and sound equipment to be used with the events.

The kiosk will also act as a wireless network base station allowing cafe users to connect to each other using their laptops and personal digital assistants.
