CompletionMarch 2009

Conversion of existing Grade A listed interior into new restaurant and bar. Including demolitions, new kitchen, interior design, fit out & furniture design.

The historic Georgian rooms facing onto Waterloo Place provided the ideal setting for Elliot’s restaurant and bar. The spaces have been opened up to reflect the original plan, with historic features sensitively restored. Strong colours within the Georgian rooms accentuate their height and scale as well as emphasising the intricate historic detailing.

Textured finishes were selected, such as Glimmer mosaic tiles to walls and riven slate to floors. These were combined with patterned fabrics from Harlequin and Zoffany to furniture and curtains, which soften the lounge and brasserie areas, adding a contemporary feel to the rooms and creating a rich and layered aesthetic.

In addition, contemporary light fittings from Artemide and dramatic bespoke pendant fittings highlight focal points throughout the front of house areas, including the pendant fittings in the brasserie from Mike Stoane Lighting and a light sculpture by Sharon Marston in the Lounge area.

The furniture in the lounge was carefully chosen to reflect the quality of workmanship expected in such a prestigious building, with hand crafted Lansdowne Chairs and Howard style benches from David Seyfried of London, mixed with contemporary chairs and tables from hb group in London and Tangram in Edinburgh.
