The project involves coverting an existing 1970’s office building into a 4 star, 120 bedroom hotel. The existing, tired façade is replaced with a sophisticated glass envelope. Timber screens within the room offer individual control of the light entering the bedrooms.

A new restaurant is created at ground level with conference facilities above. The building is topped by a new penthouse health spa affording unrivalled views across the city.

Over recent years, however, it has endeavoured to raise it’s quality and now aims to be a 4 star hotel. As part of this development, the existing rooms are to be upgraded to meet the Hotels new image and quality threshold. The project involves refurbishing all the bedrooms in a rolling programme, scheduled to start September 2000.

The hotel bathrooms were refurbished and upgraded by Ian Springford Architects between August and December of 1999.

Work will be carried out gradually in phases over the next two years while the Hotels remain open.
